Julie's Picks: Podcasts

They say you can tell a lot about someone by his or her iPod. Or something like that. Well, I have the first generation iPod video, and it's hasn't let me down after all these years. People ask me why I don't buy a Nano or a Touch, and then I laugh at them when their brand spankin' new technological doodads freeze or crash or break. I love my old iPod, it never freezes, the battery lasts forever, it doesn't need updates, and when I turn it on I can expect everything to be in the same place it's been for the last five years: exactly where I left it. But enough ranting. Here the podcasts you'll always find in my iTunes: I recommend them all.

College Humor Originals: You probably know of these guys: they do sketch comedy. Just like the videos, the podcasts aren't always funny, but when they are, they're really funny. Not always appropriate for younger audiences.

Team Coco Podcast: This is a look behind the scenes of Conan. You'll probably find it kind of boring if you're not into the whole real-people-are-actually-behind-what-happens-in-Hollywood type of thing like I am.

Stuff You Missed in History Class: This podcast pulls the most interesting tidbits out of history class and presents them to you in an nontraditional sort of way. It's a great thing to listen to in those few moments of free time we all have here and there.

Best of YouTube: Exactly what it sounds like. I'm a YouTube junkie, and every single time I see one of these I think, "How did I miss this?" Then I usually look it up on Youtube and it leads to a whole bunch of other cool videos.

NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!: This news show is REALLY funny. And now you can sleep in through it and just listen to the podcast later!

0 people aren't total vegetables.:
